There is a tension between our need to be unique and our need to belong. We fear that we will have to give up self in order to be part of a community, that we will lose our identity to the group. The tension between the need to be ourselves and the need to belong is inevitable. Our task is not to find resolution, but to be ourselves and experience community in the midst of the tension. The church is uniquely designed by God to utilize this tension as an instrument of transformation in the lives of His people. At Aletheia, we value both unity and diversity in the context of biblical community. Our dream is to build a dynamic community where followers of Jesus are relationally loved, biblically equipped, and thoroughly trained to serve God by serving one another for the sake of Jesus.
