Aletheia at VCU is a community of people transformed by the good news of Jesus and we have a passion to make disciples on the campus of VCU where God has placed us right now. The word “Aletheia” is the greek word for “truth”.
Aletheia at VCU is an official campus organization at Virginia Commonwealth University.
During the school year (and also during the summer), we gather throughout the week as a community at VCU to worship Jesus as we learn more about Him through the Bible, love and encourage one another in the gospel, pray for one another, and serve the campus of VCU and the surrounding city of Richmond.

MCV Hospitals, clinics and the health sciences schools of Virginia Commonwealth University constitute the VCU Medical Center, one of the leading academic medical centers in the country.
At Aletheia, we believe that within these students lies the passion and potential to transform the landscape of culture for the fame of Jesus.
It’s our desire to see students radically encounter God, strategically discover their place in His story, and creatively serve Him now within a local body of believers (local church) in anticipation of what He has in store for the future.
Wednesday Worship Gathering
Every Wednesday night at 7pm during the Fall and Spring semesters, we gather as a community to worship Jesus through creating an environment of authentic love, relevant biblical teaching, and dynamic music. Our desire is to have our affections stirred by God’s word and to be equipped to more effectively reach our friends and campus with the message of Jesus.

Community Groups
In Acts, we see a group of people who are transformed by God through the Gospel gathering together as a family in Christ, “[devoting] themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” They did not do it to become Christ followers, they did it because they are Christ followers. We want to gather together as a family in Christ to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works”, “encouraging one another”, all the more as we “see the Day drawing near”.
As a body of believers on the campus of VCU, we gather in each others houses all throughout the week to eat, hangout, study the Bible, pray for one another and talk about how we can be better serve and reach our classmates and friends at VCU. There are four co-ed gatherings that happen on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights at 7pm. Campus Outreach
We meet on campus weekly and go out to train believers in Christ to relationally and systematically share their faith on the VCU campus.
